Spicy Apricot Sauce

Yield:
Serves 7

Ingredients:

  1. 1 can (15 oz.) apricot halves in juice, drained, juice reserved
  2. 2 sticks cinnamon, broken in half
  3. 6 whole cloves
  4. 2 tablespoons sugar
  5. 1 teaspoon butter or margarine
Directions:

Combine reserved juice from apricots with spices, sugar and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.

Puree apricots in blender and add to saucepan. Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves. Heat thoroughly. If desired, thicken mixture with a little cornstarch.
