Spiced Cranberry Sauce

Yield:
Makes 1-3/4 cups

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pkg. (12 oz.) cranberries
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1 cinnamon stick, 3" long
  5. 1/2 teaspoon orange peel
  6. 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions:

Place all ingredients except vanilla in large saucepan. Stir to combine. Heat to boil, reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and set aside to cool to room temp. Remove and discard cinnamon stick. Stir in vanilla. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
