Ale'd Pork and Sauerkraut

Ingredients:

  1. 1 jar (32 oz.) sauerkraut, undrained
  2. 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  3. 1 can (12 oz.) dark beer or ale
  4. 3 1/2 lbs. pork shoulder
  5. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  6. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  8. paprika
Directions:

Pour sauerkraut into slow cooker. Sprinkle sugar evenly over sauerkraut, and pour beer over all. Place pork, fat side up, on top of sauerkraut mixture; sprinkle evenly with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours. Place pork on serving platter and, using slotted spoon, remove sauerkraut and arrange around pork.
