Italian Cheeseburgers and Fries

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 pound ground beef
  2. 1/2 pound ground Italian sausage
  3. 1/2 cup panko crumbs
  4. 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  5. 2 Tablespoons finely chopped onion
  6. 2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  7. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  8. 4 slices Provolone cheese
  9. 4 hamburger buns, sliced in half
  10. 8 fresh basil leaves
  11. marinara sauce for topping burgers and fry dipping
  12. 1 bag frozen French fries, prepare as directed on package
Directions:

Combine beef, sausage, panko crumbs, marinara sauce, onion, Parmesan cheese and pepper; mix just until blended together; shape into four patties.

Prepare the French fries.

Grill, broil or panfry patties on both sides to desired doneness.

In the meantime, place a slice of cheese on one half of each bun. Toast until cheese melts.

Place the patties on buns and top with marinara and two fresh basil leaves.

Serve with sizzling French fries sprinkled with Italian seasoning and a side of marinara for dipping.
