Apples and Brown Rice Bake

Ingredients:

  1. 1 1/2 cups uncooked brown rice
  2. 4 Tablespoons butter, divided
  3. 2 1/2 cups applesauce
  4. 1 cup apples, peeled and cubed
  5. 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  7. Sprinkle of cinnamon
  8. Milk or half and half
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Cook rice according to package directions.

Stir 2 tablespoons butter into hot rice. Add applesauce, apples, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Spoon into a greased 2 1/2- quart baking dish. Dot with remaining butter; sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake, uncovered for 35 minutes or until heated through. Spoon into bowls and add milk or half and half. Can be enjoyed hot or cold.
