Pizzettes with Basil

Yield:
30 pieces

Ingredients:

  1. 1 can (6 oz.) Italian style tomato paste
  2. 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  3. 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  4. 1 loaf (16 oz.) Italian bread, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  5. 8 ounces mozzarella cheese,thinly sliced
Directions:

Combine tomato paste, cream cheese and basil in small bowl.

Toast bread sliced on ungreased cookie sheet, turning to toast both sides. Remove from oven.

Spread 2 teaspoons tomato mixture onto each bread slice; top with 1 slice mozzarella cheese.

Return to oven and broil for 1-2 minutes or until cheese begins to melt.
