  1. 4 lbs. whole beef brisket
  2. 1 teaspoon pepper
  3. 1 large onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  4. 1 can (12 oz.) beer
  5. 1/2 cup chili sauce
  6. 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
  7. 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  8. 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  9. 1/4 cup cold water

Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer or until onions are slightly browned and meat is tender. Remove meat and onions to a serving platter and keep warm.

For Gravy:
Pour drippings into a saucepan. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Gradually stir into pan drippings. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
