Cajun Burgers with Fire Roasted Creole Tomatoes

Yield:
8 servings

Ingredients:

  1. 2 pounds lean ground beef or lean ground turkey breast
  2. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  3. 4 teaspoons Creole seasoning, divided
  4. 1 can (14.5 ounce) fire roasted diced tomatoes, drained
  5. 1 clove garlic, minced
  6. 8 toasted hamburger buns
  7. 8 slices provolone cheese
  8. 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Directions:

Spray cold grill rack with cooking spray. Preheat grill.

In a medium bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, Worcestershire sauce and 2 teaspoons Creole seasoning. Shape mixture into 8 patties.

Grill burgers about 6 minutes on each side or until completely done. Place a slice of provolone cheese on top of each burger just before removing from the grill.

While the burgers are cooking, place the tomatoes, remaining Creole seasoning and garlic in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated.

Place burgers on buns and spoon on the creole tomatoes.
