Delicate Graham Cracker Cake

Resembles a torte. Fill and frost with sweetened whipped cream

Ingredients:

  1. 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  2. 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  3. 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 1/3 cups graham cracker crumbs
  6. 1/2 cup shortening
  7. 3/4 cup milk
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  9. 2 eggs
  10. Whipped topping
Directions:

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and graham cracker crumbs.

Place shortening in a bowl. Add dry ingredients, milk, and vanilla; mix until dry ingredients are moistened. Beat 2 minutes with electric mixer or 300 strokes by hand. Add eggs and beat 1 minute or 150 stokes by hand.

Pour into 2 heavily greased 8- inch layer cake pans; bake in a preheated oven at 350 degree F. for about 25 minutes, or until done. Cool. Fill and frost as desired.
